THE WHY BEHIND YOUR WHY? #mywhy

After observing so many races, (well over 200 in the past 5 years) we see so many different sorts of people participate, of all ages and abilities; from those that are super fast and always seem to win, to those that have just participated in their first ever 3km walk event after being inactive/injured/ill, to those with disabilities and have broken barriers to find a way to participate, to an older person in their 80s participating in a tower stair climb, to a 6 year old running a 2.5km race with their parent, etc. In our eyes, they are all athletes for just registering to get to the start line and all are equally inspiring to watch.

It was at a marathon race, where Delphine (Mama Wolf) was proudly waiting for the Team AngelWolf #WolfPack to complete their 42km inclusive run; the Pack was 5 riders (People Of Determination) and 5 pushers (runners). She witnessed the incredibly fast runners who came first, second and third, and was totally inspired ... but then as she waited for the #WolfPack to finish, as time passed by, she saw many other sort of diverse athletes crossing the finish line; it was there that she noticed something special and equally inspiring as the top 3 finishers ... she could see that every single person that completed that race, all had a reason for starting it; they all obviously yet discreetly, had a “why” behind why they signed up for that race, why they had challenged themselves and why they had put themselves through hours of discomfort. There were people that had photos of someone pinned to their clothing (maybe a deceased loved one or someone they are dedicating the race to), there was a person kicking a football for the whole 42kms, someone ran the whole distance in a business suit, someone was running in pink representing breast cancer, etc; so many different ages, sizes and abilities were participating. There were many tears at that finish line, where you could tell that there was more to the tears than just relief of completing 42kms of pain!

Many people say that they are inspired by #TeamAngelWolf, the story, the mission, the inclusive participation, the community involvement, etc ... but the more races we witness, the more we realise that EVERYONE has an inspiring story that would equally inspire and motivate people on different levels; we just chose to make our story public.

So many people already know about the WHY behind our own personal story and #TeamAngelWolf, but with that knowing that “everyone has a story ... everyone has a ‘why behind their why’!”, we really wanted to provide a platform to share this motivation and we are incredibly grateful for those whom have been willing to share their own story, in hope to help, motivate and inspire others.

So this is a series of interviews about “The Why Behind Your Why”! #mywhy

To start this off, we wanted to highlight the stories of some of our wonderful Team AngelWolf #WolfPack ... a Pack of a whole range of ages and abilities but always a Pack of #togetherness !

Our first story is from our dear friends Kellaigh, Ciara and Liam; they have been part of the Team AngelWolf #WolfPack for many years.
We have known Liam and Ciara since they were 4 years old, now they are 18; we are so proud of the amazing, determined adults that they have become (they have wonderful parents!)!

Guys (The Moffett’s), we are very sad to see you go but very excited for your new adventure ahead.
