Subject Distancing

As we are all braving this time, separating ourselves from the people in our world has been difficult to accept and practice. I hope this film shows that though we need to keep our distance from each other, we are still able to connect and create in so many ways. With a 200 - 400mm telephoto lens, I was able to capture the people in this film from at least a 50ft distance and catch them in an environment of their own.
This project was more challenging than expected... from setting up the right frame from far away, keeping the subject somewhat close to home, directing them over the phone (or yelling), and adding the sound design in post. Despite the challenge, being able to film, create, and engage with friends and family, even though from afar, was an incredible experience. Thank you to everyone involved who made this project possible and let’s continue to develop new ways of being able to create together.
