At our clinic we use PRP for a variety of applications including skin rejuvenation, acne scarring, hair loss and for sexual health problems for both men and women.

PRP stands for “Platelet Rich Plasma”. The treatment itself is natural tissue regenerative therapy using a small sample of the patient’s own blood to harvest high platelet concentrated plasma. This is then injected into the target tissue, relying on platelets to release their special growth factors (of which there are 126), which in turn recruits the bodies regenerative stem cells to rejuvenate and repair the target tissue. For example if PRP is injected into the skin, growth factors from the platelets stimulate new collagen and elastin formation to help repair the skin. PRP can be applied to any area in the body to stimulate healing, and has been used for over a decade in orthopaedics, maxilo-facial surgery and sports medicine.

As well as being a cosmetic physician, Dr Gavin Scriven is also a practicing General Practioner (GP), so he has extensive experience in managing the causes of Erectile Dysfunction (ED). The P-Shot procedure is something we can recommend for a certain clients, for example: Ageing clients who have had a gradual decline in their erectile function over the years; those with peripheral cardiovascular disease; smokers; or those with damage to the penile tissue often occurring with the ageing process, or even tissue damage due to trauma.

PRP brings growth factors and stem cells to regenerate the area, we use a very sophisticated EMCYTE PRP for this treatment. Generally we know that PRP works best after 2-3 procedures, there’s a small percentage of non-responders, albeit rare. Patients may have tried oral medications, if these are undesirable or ineffective, then PRP can be used as a treatment to effectively recruit other cells in the body to repair damaged tissue, which has a very positive effect on erectile function.

Contact us for a Consultation. During your consultation, Dr Gavin will explain the procedure, what to expect, and small risks involved (which are minimal as the treatment uses your own blood). Downtime is also minimal, with numbing cream used for comfort.
