We are very proud to present the IHHP video of the Papulankutja Mural Project featuring Blackstone community members and Jarret Hogan captain of the mighty Papulankutja Demons.

Elders, community members, students, children and staff in Papulankutja/ Blackstone helped create the design and professional street artists painted the large-scale mural over a massive four walls of the Papulankutja Store. The Art Centre and School worked with High School students who designed and painted plentiful local bush tucker and the winning design for the 2020 football jersey. The artwork represents the important culture and country of the Ngaanyatjarra Lands and also highlights clean faces, strong eyes to eliminate trachoma.

Blackstone Community School, Papulankutja Artists, Community Store, Swimming Pool, Ngaanyatjarra Council Aboriginal Corporation and many other services were involved throughout the 3-month long project and the entire community and local services came together for the mural launch in late 2019. Indigenous Eye Health staff, Indigenous Hip Hop crew, Milpa and the WA Environmental Health Trachoma Project were thrilled to see such a great turn out.
