Ever since I was a child, I have been collecting things that evoke a memory or a moment of my life. Collecting tickets from my first cricket and football matches, bands from concerts, boarding passes from various trips etc. create a weird feeling of satisfaction and hold a sense of sentimental value to it. For example, I still have the tickets of my meet & greet with Mickey Mouse from when I went to Disneyland in 2002. I also collect boxes of my favorite chocolate “Nutties” and have a shelf filled with them. Talking about collecting made me think of looking at the term ‘collecting’ in a different way. I am focusing on how, why and what it is that people hoard and collect; the concept and organising aspect of it by using different types of binding techniques and creating something new with it. Thus, creating an ‘Organised Mess’.
