At the Commission Meeting on January 7, Commissioners recognized a group of student athletes for a major national accomplishment!

Macon United is an extension of the Macon-Bibb Recreation Department’s Youth Football program. Macon United is a travel football program with three team in different age brackets. They compete in local, state, and regional games.

From December 10 through 15, Macon United’s 8 Under team represented Macon-Bibb County and the Recreation Department in the 2019 AAU Youth Tackle Football National Championship in Orlando, Florida. The boys competed against 12 teams and were crowned 2019’s AAU National Champions. They won 14-6 over the West Orange Bobcats. Congratulations to the team and their coaches!
