While the country's attention is focused on the coronavirus pandemic, high profile crimes and court cases continue.

The Supreme Court announced it will hear two cases on May 12 concerning President Trump's bid to shield his financial records.

The cases concern whether the House of Representatives and the New York prosecutor can subpoena the President's longtime accounting firm and banks for his records.

The oral arguments will be conducted remotely by phone.

The Justices have never allowed the release of live audio of their proceedings but for the first time in history, the public will be allowed to listen in real time.

Miami physician Armen Henderson is demanding an apology from the Miami-Dade Police Department after he says he was handcuffed and detained in front of his own home while loading coronavirus supplies for homeless residents.

The officer said Henderson was being detained for leaving trash in his yard.

Henderson, who was African-American and wearing a mask, claims he was targeted because of his race.

Several African-American men across the country have reported increased incidences of racial profiling because they are following the CDC's suggestion of wearing masks in public.

Singer-songwriter R Kelly's day in a Brooklyn court is being delayed until September.

According to the US attorney's office in the Eastern District of New York, lawyers on both sides want the New York trial to take place before Kelly's federal trial in Chicago, which is set to take place in October.

Kelly is facing numerous charges in New York including violations of the Mann Act, the transportation of women and girls for immoral purposes.

Prosecutors in Chicago have also charged Kelly would child pornography.

And finally three thieves in California were arrested after they looted a hotel maid's supply cart.

Police spotted a vehicle with an open container on the dash.

But when they checked out the scene, it looked like a Bed Bath and Beyond.

31 rolls of toilet paper, towels, bedsheets and two dozen boxes of tissues were found in the backseat of the getaway car.

The three suspects were charged with petty theft but all of them were also on probation for other crimes.
