The digital student congress „Global Eyes – Open your eyes for a future-proof world“will take
place on July 9th
, 2021. Children and young people between the ages of 10 and 19 years from
Baden-Württemberg (Germany) are going to debate about topics such as climate protection, Fair
Trade, sustainable lifestyles, anti-racism and post-colonialism, the Sustainable Development Goals
(SDGs) and positive visions for the future.
The main question is about the capacities for our sustainable future: which capacities do we need
to be fit for the future and to become agents for a sustainable and just global society?
The congress is hosted by the Dachverband Entwicklungspolitik Baden-Wuerttemberg (DEAB, the
regional civil society umbrella organization in the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg) in cooperation
with different actors from the field of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and Global
Learning such as BNE-Kompass, EPiZ Reutlingen, RENN.süd, the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Youth
and Sports of the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg and many other partners.
Through this digital congress, we want students to hear about the different people that are
actively engaged in these issues everywhere in the world and to learn from their experiences. One
way of including perspectives and messages from across the globe are short video messages that
we would like to collect and include into the congress.
We would highly appreciate, if you could part of the congress by sending us a short video for the
congress and answer in it the following three questions:

Key questions for the videos:
1. What capacities, qualities and tools do we need in the future, to create a just and
sustainable world?
2. Which positive, motivating message would you like to share with the participants of our
congress?
3. Where and how can we start to take action?

The video should not last longer than one minute. Please send it until June, 13th

If you record the video in a language other than German, it would be great if you could send us a
small of what you said in the video, in text form. This way we can insert subtitles into the video.
