This is a Nike spec commercial, editied from a short doc I directed for "The New Yorker" in 2018, on the most famous street basketball playground in the world: Rucker Park in Harlem, New York City.

The film was not commissioned nor paid for by Nike and is a mere conceptual piece for portfolio purpuses.

It includes archival footage of iconic moments in Rucker Park history.

Thanks for the people at Rucker Park, The New Yorker, for commissioning the original piece, and the the awesome crew.

The poem is is an edited version of "Dreams", by the famous Harlem Renaissance author Langston Hughes, written in 1922.

The music is taken from Nicolas Jaar's beautiful album "Pomegranates" from 2015. The song is called "Divorce."
