An Army Commando for 22 years, Marc moved back to his hometown of Newcastle where he lives with his wife and his 6 year old daughter. Since the assembly, Marc has decided to re-train as an electric vehicle charging point installer at British Gas. Just as his Grandad didn’t want any of his sons following him down the pit, Marc sees the Assembly as a chance to learn from past mistakes and consider what we need to put in place for the future. When the coal mine closed, “the local economy fell apart and there was nothing to replace it”.
