Every unique vehicle we import from Japan has its own character and style. Our stable of sports cars, microvans, and RHS sport utilities suit a bevy of different customer needs and purposes. This 1993 Isuzu NPR Safety Loader would be a neat option to haul a race car to the track, and could also be put to work immediately as a money-making rollback. Finished in a low-key Slate gray, and adorned with multicolored Japanese side markers, the body is in good shape and features a functional array of loading accessories. In service for us for nearly a year and a half, our little NPR benefits from a slate of recent service, and has served us well over the last 18 months!

The cockpit is bare-bones, like all work trucks, but includes some power equipment and a few nice appointments. The cabover design is ideal for visibility, and the Isuzu has a massive front windscreen and skinny a-pillars. A small window has located on the passenger side door above the vinyl floor gives a better view of cars and objects that might be in a blindspot otherwise. The blue, low lying dash has two cupholders appended to it but does have some holes and imperfections where accessories were added. It seats three, and the driver benefits from power windows and a tilting and telescoping steering column. The seats have the normal tears, like the ones we see in our work vans, but they are comfortable and all three passengers have plenty of room. The center seat folds down and has additional console storage and a built-in clipboard for paperwork. The a/c functions, but don't expect it to get terribly cold as the system is nearly three decades old. A roof vent supplies additional, natural, to the cabin if you desire. The heat does work, as does defrost, making the cabin useful in the winter time.

The rollback system has some nice gear including a PTO driven winch, which like the bed, is powered by a remote. The home bedsides add a bit of flair, and a spare tire sits on the drivers side if needed. The measurements of the bed are 80" wide by 220" long, and the ramps are sized at 55"

The driveline and running gear make this truck special, and virtually all of it works. The heart of this beast is a 4.3L 4HF1 diesel, that supplies power to the dually-style rear wheels. The engine benefits from a fresh oil and filter service and runs like a champ. Recently, this NPR received a new diesel injection pump, which is one of the most expensive service items a tow truck can get. This was performed at the local dealer and we have the receipts as well. A new fuel sender and gas tank reseal The mileage reads 125k, but it is not verified. Naturally aspirated, she gets up to highways speeds easily, and the lack of heat from a turbocharger is a good thing for motor longevity. The five-speed manual transmissions fluidly rows through the gears and is simple in its design. While the ride doesn't rival Lexus, its long wheelbase is helpful distributing road imperfections and the power steering isn't heavy or difficult to modulate. The brakes are confident, and the front wheels are sporting new Falken tires.
