Photographs were made of various parts of an electronic circuit board, mainly from above. Each of these images were duplicated and manipulated numerous times which became the primary image source for creating the video. The various still images were assembled resulting in a slowly moving visual event utilizing many lengthy dissolves of the images. Electronic and natural sounds (some derived from water) were manipulated and compiled to create the music. Many of the sounds are sudden and end abrupt, unlike most of the visuals.
However, longer sounds appear during which the pitches either rise or fall, many times ending suddenly followed by silence. This technique. which occurs throughout the piece (but becomes more prominent during the second half), aids in establishing the ending. All elements of the composition (visuals and music) are completely controled by a singular serial procedure. Silence and no visuals (black screen) or out of focus images are singled out as a way of setting up or featuring important events in the music and the video, but not necessarily at the same time. The last moments bring these aspects (in sound and video) together, creating the final cadence.
