What would technology look like if it didn't look like technology?
Værsgo is a system of vases which function as an "invisible" intercom within the home. It passes audio messages from one room to another, effectively encouraging interpersonal communication in the home without the use of buttons, screens, or cords. When an incoming message is detected, responsive robotic branches initiate a rustling movement which alerts listeners of the message through visual and auditory feedback. After the message plays, the listener can activate the motion sensor within the vase to record their response. The leaves themselves, made of a flexible, clear polyamide-imide and coated with a smart glass film which can electrically alter its own opacity, will reveal selectable locations for the recorded message to go. In this way, the værsgo takes on a magical appearance, seeming to move in the wind when there is no breeze and effortlessly alter the appearance of its own leaves.
