Documentation of the work installed in 'Tubes', curated by Lior Zalmanson at The Israeli Center for Digital Arts as a part of Print Screen International Festival for Digital Art and Culture 2019
The work transcodes the network activity of cellular phones and computers in its proximity into light flowing in translucent acrylic tubes. The tube structure has been shaped according to the critical angle of “total reflection”, the physical phenomenon that makes the water-to-air surface in a fish-tank look like a perfectly silvered mirror when viewed from below the water level, and that is being utilised by optical fiber technology used in telecommunication cables.
