Since 1954, the Atlantic Coast Conference men’s basketball tournament has been a staple of Southern culture. Whether you’re a sports fan or not, the ACC tournament is THE event year after year. From Tobacco Road down to the Sunshine State, this annual event captures the heart and soul of Southern charm and flair.

When Covid-19 hit, the 5-day ACC tournament ended after just 2 days of full action. With two teams on the court 5 minutes before game time on Thursday, March 12th, the announcement came shutting the tournament creating a surreal scene that nobody in attendance or watching from home will ever forget.

Rather than erase the 2020 ACC tournament from our memory, the idea came about to highlight this time for what it was; one of the most memorable tournaments ever....for all the wrong reasons.

This half-hour documentary was produced, written, and edited by only two people. Through the use of virtual technology, 25 interviews with coaches, players, various media personalities, conference officials and more were conducted in less than a week. The project was completed in 3 weeks and has more than half a million views on Twitter, Facebook, and other social media outlets combined.

This is not a story about basketball. This is a story about how our world changed in only 48 hours through the lens of one of the greatest sporting events in America...the ACC Men’s basketball tournament. This is a story about leadership, decision making, and resiliency. Enjoy.
