Like, well, almost all of you, I'm at home right now. I'm at home with my thoughts, my family, and quite a few harddrives of footage I captured in a fever pitch, but never did anything with. That's what this footage is. I was uptown for a meeting and decided to cut across central park before grabbing a train back to brooklyn. I came out of the park across from the Natural Science museum and stumbled upon thousands of high school and junior high kids on a climate strike. I had a camera with me and spent about twenty minutes among them photographing and filming. I was so inspired. It was beautiful. Kids of all shapes, sizes, and colors draped over each other carrying signs and chanting together. The energy, anger, joy, awkwardness, and jubilation of standing up for something was all swirling in the air. I rolled 2 more clips than I'm showing you here. But this is more or less exactly what I shot.

As I've been sitting at home thinking about the effects that this moment will have on kids in their most formative years, I suddenly felt a wash of hope. This will be a defining moment for them and they will likely have a perception of a collective whole, of a collective sacrifice, and the reality that a global event really can touch their everyday lives. I think this will define their generation in incredibly profound ways. I know that I feel better knowing they're going to grow up and lead the charge. The kids are going to be alright.
