House of Hope is an Arabic-language, trauma-informed elementary school in the West Bank villages of Al Eizariya/ Abu Dis. In 2019, the Palestinian Authority Ministry of Education recognized House of Hope as the first and only Waldorf kindergarten in the West Bank.
In order to create societal change that lays a foundation for peace, trauma-informed education must be widely available to all children living in the Holy Land. Waldorf education embodies key principles of trauma-informed education, such as: prioritizing sensory-motor integration, activating mirror neurons through imitation, and nurturing prosocial skills through play.
