The rag-tag Brussel Sprout Army stands in a semblance of battle lines, ready to defend the Town of New London from malnutrition and who-knows-what-else. They may be short, but they are sturdy and stout, very dependable. Perhaps this is the beginning of the 11th Mountain Division. A few volunteers from the Kale Kadet Korp are learning from their sibling Sprouts Scouts.
These are the last vegetables wintering over in the field between Spring Ledge Farm and the Historical Society, on a 143 acre property that Ausbon Sargent Land Preservation Trust is working hard to keep as open space and forest. Please support ASLPT's efforts: ausbonsargent.org.
