Mental Health and Trauma featured Dr. Howard Stevenson, the Constance Clayton Professor of Urban Education, Professor of Africana Studies, in the Human Development and Quantitative Methods Division of the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania. He is also the Executive Director of the Racial Empowerment Collaborative at the Penn Graduate School of Education, which is designed to promote racial literacy in education, health, community, and justice institutions.

Participants examined the effects of racial stress and trauma on everyday life; discussed how the pandemic and current manifestations of racism can trigger further trauma; and
explored racial literacy strategies and considerations for re-engaging children and families and for supporting their well-being.
