Later this year I will be returning to Himi, Japan to make a series of short, collaborative science fictions, asking the following questions: what will the area be like in 2040? are there any opportunities arising from depopulation, and if so, what are they? who stands to benefit or be excluded? how can speculations about possible futures help us to chart a course forward?
