Merlijn Goldsack is a young adult with Autism. He processes stimuli more deeply than other people which prevents him from going to school. Merlijn: “I never felt safe, never felt any connection, there was always a sensory overload.” Merlijn wonders how the Dutch education system should adapt to enable children like him to go to school and what is needed to change their education system. In his film ‘My Journey For Education’ he is going to travel abroad to countries like America and Finland to investigate this and explores alternative methods. How education for children with autism can be organized better, giving them equal opportunities in society. This film is now in production, release date later this year.
