The last decades Elizabeth Sanders published a few paper about participatory design and how and why design changed over the time. From her point of view if you want to design for nowadays you need to do it in co creation with people because the world is to complex to design for people.

In my work as a collaboration designer I always try to find participatory design methods to organize collaborations needs-oriented and together with all the participants. In my video essay the theoretical input of Sanders inspired me to show that if design changed and is adjusted to nowadays world also the way of design education should be adapted. Therefore the easiest way is to use the design methods the design students learn anyway. Therefore I integrated a little exercise called “reflected collaboration“ to show the first steps how to change design education to a way of co created and reflected collaboration. I tested the focal sheet already in several classes and workshops and evolved it further. The reactions after the third use are positive and the results are really motivating that's why I want to spread this project.
