Dancers Becky Byers and Felix Denton created a scratch performance of their interpretation of a journey from Antarctica to beyond the galaxy and 'Aurora Musicalis. The performance space was designed as a figure of eight with a video projection and stereo sound.
In October 2019 an immersive dance-led performance of the ‘Sounds of Space’ was created for the Cambridge Festival of Ideas together with a Science Talk and Q&A.
The soundtrack and visuals were a montage of existing work using actual 'sounds of space' music by composer Kim Cunio and film/animations edited by Diana Scarborough
This is one of the latest developments of 'Sounds of Space' which is an ongoing collaboration between artist-engineer Diana Scarborough and space weather scientist Nigel Meredith of British Antarctic Survey.
