This is a little snippet in honor of #EarthDay of Mileece's Bio-Generative Music Micro-Performance, which will be released in full just as soon as Abandon Buildings' magical rendering fingers and star-bound computer streams coalesce in a couple of weeks.

Mileece is a sonic artist, interactive ecological environment designer and clean energy ambassador. PiP (People's Interface for Plants) is her custom EBG (electro-botanic-graph) hardware and her coded synthesis system that facilitates the translation of the natural bio-emissions of plants and their interaction with humans into generative harmonic soundscapes (and more but that's for later!).

For her adventurous lecture, ‘A Brief History of Phytophilic Technology in the Psychedelic Era’ at UCLAs Mildred E. Mathias Botanical Garden for Atlas Obscura and Sacred Bones’ release party of Mort Gerson's renowned "Mother Earth's Plantasia" album, Mileece demonstrates this process she calls ‘Aesthetic Sonification’ where the bioenergy of her touch mingles with three orchids to create this real-time 'Organic Electronic' music performance. You can find the music featured in the soundtrack of the Netflix Film 'Horse Girl' blending with a little more of her ‘phyto-score’…

First materialised in 2005, PiP is another of Mileece’s long form nature-based projects which include creating collaborative negative-carbon energy technology for communities and interactive, hybrid bio-sanctuaries. PiP is designed so one day you can have it too, and together we can help contribute to healthy habitats across the globe through the sounds and images of plants.
