It worked for traffic north to south, west to east, for boats, cars trams pedestrians and cyclists. Slussen (Swedish for “the Locker)” separates the salt water of the Baltic Sea from the fresh water of lake Mälaren. It was built in the 1930th But now it´s all gone and a new modern structure is soon in place.
The pictures are multiple image panoramas. A technique first used, I believe, by Martin Behrman in a picture of Rincon Hill in San Francisco 1851. But he of course did not use Photoshop but instead used eleven daguerreotypes which he manually stitched together.
