An interview from the 2019 National Association of Broadcasters Convention in Las Vegas with Brad Hurndell of SHOTOVER, a developer of high-performance camera systems and UAVs for the broadcast and motion picture industries. The company’s line of gyro-stabilized camera platforms offers aerial cinematographers an unprecedented level of stability, control and versatility in a compact package easily configured for 2D, 3D and Ultra HD shooting with the world’s most advanced cameras and lenses. Developed in partnership with the industry’s top aerial cinematographers, SHOTOVER systems are fully user upgradable, allowing operators to utilize new professional cameras, lenses, and accessories as they come to market.

In this interview Brad talks with us about the unveiling of the SHOTOVER B1 camera system. The system will be showcased on the two-seat, lightweight Guimbal Cabri G2 helicopter that is owned by Carbonflight, and managed and operated by Anthelion Helicopters. Designed to meet the needs of a wide range of markets including industrial survey, live broadcast, production, and surveillance, the system is the most compact aerial camera system developed by SHOTOVER.

Weighing under 40 pounds with payload, the SHOTOVER B1’s lightweight design allows it to be utilized on a host of helicopters including the Guimbal Cabri G2, Robinson R44 and R66, Bell 206 and 505, Eurocopter AS350, and Cessna fixed-wing aircraft. The system can also be mounted on watercraft and ground-based platforms such as cable cams, tracks and rails. Like all of SHOTOVER’s aerial camera systems, the B1 features award-winning 6-axis stabilization technology, providing unmatched look down capability and functionality. Coupled with unsurpassed reliability, service, and support, the open platform design of the system will allow users the flexibility and creative freedom to use the system for a variety of applications.
