Kehler Liddell Gallery, and ArtEcon Initiative, present: SalonThrive, a virtual gathering place for art discussion and discovery on Sundays at 5:00pm on the Zoom platform. Each episode features a different local CT-based artist host, broadcasting live from their studio. Some artists have prepared videos to begin the conversation.

SalonThrive finds its inspiration from the gatherings of the Paris Salon that began in 1667 when people — usually most from the creative sector — were invited to come together to exchange ideas in the Salon/Studio of the host. This 2020 version of the salon offers inclusion and accessibility to all interested in broadening their conversation about the arts.

This week's host is Liz Antle-O'Donnell. Originally from New Haven, Antle-O'Donnell has been an active member of the local arts scene as a teacher, administrator, and artist for over a decade. Her print and mixed-media artworks are intentionally heavy and tactile; the process, medium, and materials are all meaningful components. Though primarily self-taught, Antle-O'Donnell studied printmaking and studio arts at New York University (BA, English), Paier College of Art, and Rhode Island School of Design. She has also been serving as the Director of Kehler Liddell Gallery since 2017, and has been a member artist since 2013.

Kehler Liddell Gallery (KLG) is a cooperative gallery in the heart of New Haven’s Westville village representing 27 of the area’s most notable emerging and established artists. Established in 2003, KLG is one of New Haven’s longest running retail galleries to date. All of the artists are juried into membership. Monthly exhibitions are highlighted by free community arts programming presented by ArtEcon Initiative. Gallery hours: Thursday – Friday, 11am-4pm; Saturday–Sunday,10am-4pm. The gallery is free and open to the public. KehlerLiddellGallery.com.

ArtEcon Initiative (AEI). AEI is a neighborhood-based non-profit and an outgrowth of ArLoW (Art Lofts West). The primary mission of ArtEcon is to produce and support free, or low cost, arts and community programs for all ages in the Westville West-Rock neighborhood. Programming is made possible with support from: The City of New Haven Mayor’s Community Arts Grants, the Community Foundation of Greater New Haven, The New Alliance Foundation, the State of Connecticut Office of the Arts, and the Pincus Family Foundation.
