Essentially a loaded mess, from left to right order:

We have a MIDI controlling unit for two synths running inside Ableton Live. The first is “stabs synth” set within a ninth range of keys assigned to the QWERTY keyboard, following two programmed alternating sequences of notes. The second, a “bass” with a programmed sequence also, these sequences are made possible through the use of delays, gates and gswitches. Below, there’s the jitter control unit, which is the switch board for the jit.playlist, with several different patterns of selections and rates. Delays and triggers were used here, as in other parts of the patch, to ensure playback and reading of parameters without conflict.
To the right of the midi controlling unit, there’s the rhythmic and percussive console, which allows for control and manipulation of the drums and percussive fillers in the patch.
Below the rhythmic and percussive console is “jane”, which is also part of the rhythm section. “jane” is fundamentally a cycle~ sequencer, which talks to two devices (i.e. “mantis” and “mary ellen”).
“mary ellen” sits at the centre of a web of oscillators (i.e. cycle~ units), the “osc grid”, it is she who sets the frequencies for them to vibrate to. Combined, the oscillators form a stereophonic amplitude modulated 5D vector, this vector of frequencies are the coordinates for “mary ellen”’s location and the distance between points is derived by experimenting with the golden ratio calculation. “mary ellen” likes to go up and down the “thread”, once in a while, and her “thread” measures the length from D#3 to C4. When “mary ellen” is feeling sad she can be found at the “blue” bang, when she’s tense she can be found at the “red” bang.
“mary ellen” is in love with “mantis”, which has an affair with “jane”, so the three of them form a love triangle and whenever “mantis” comes into play she fluctuates up and down her thread, and between “blue” and “red” mood swings. It is usually during this period that a “fly” (i.e. mousestate poll) comes in and if the performer interacts with the mouse, during this timeframe, it can hear the “fly” vibrations on the web.
The “fly” was sent to “mary ellen” by “priscilla” because things were getting too hectic. “priscilla” is controlling the general timing and flow of the events behind the scenes.

This patch was inspired by meaninglessness and becomes interactive whenever “priscilla” sends a “fly” to “mary ellen”. It’s for the most part logically pre-programmed by “priscilla”, which uses timing objects (i.e. delays, metros, pipes and tempos) to set the scheduling of events, as well as control flow objects to control the flow of interactions (i.e. counters, gates, gswitches, onebangs, routes, selects, splits and triggers) between devices (i.e. “mary ellen”, “mantis”, “jane” and “fly”).
