At Ramona Optics, we believe it’s worth so much more.

We’re combining machine learning with novel optics to reinvent what’s possible with a microscope.

Our team formed in graduate school with backgrounds in physics and computer science and the goal to let researchers, scientists, and doctors see more, and therefore know more.

By using an array of small cameras and custom firmware, we came up with a way to break the trade-off that governs traditional imaging — the size of the object you see and the level of detail you see. The tools we created can take gigapixel images of something as big as a cell phone, but with enough detail to see blood cells.

Now, after 3 years of work, our MCAM technology captures some of the largest images in the world.
And our cutting-edge processing allows us to synthesize it down and save what’s important - pathogens in blood, neural signals from fruit flies, cancer in tissue.

With a little help, we can focus on getting our technology into the hands of those who need it most — allowing insightful decisions to be made faster, expanding the possibility for discovery and changing the way people look at the world.
