I learnt the necessary skills to make a short film. From working on this Pink Gun trailer and to directing 'Ordinary Acts' I experience the entire process from developing ideas, writing a script, producing, directing, filming and editing. I was appointed as 'Director' by Michael, allowing me to work with cameras and specialist sound recording equipment and applying my editing skills.
Pink Gun is a trailer I made looking at the discrepancy of women in film.
In the US, women comprised just 8% of directors working on the top 250 US domestic grossing films in 2018

I took a dramatic angle on this trailer, with experimental filming shots, representing women in the arts. The film treatment is black and white with a pink accent. The gun is representational to the word used when filming, 'shot'.
The term 'shot' is derived from the early days of film production when cameras were hand-cranked, and operated similarly to the hand-cranked machine guns of the time. That is, a cameraman would 'shoot' film the way someone would 'shoot' bullets from a machine gun.
