"See Emily Play" is the first track on the US version of the LP that started it all for Pink Floyd, The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn, released in 1967. It was also the band's second UK single following their debut hit, "Arnold Layne" (which Americans would not hear for the first time until the release of Relics in 1971). This is a synchronization of "See Emily Play" with the recently discovered (2009) home video of Pink Floyd's performance from Top of the Pops, BBC TV, aired in July 1967, and featuring Syd Barrett on lead vocal and lead guitar.

Although badly damaged in places, there are large portions of the tape that are quite clear and much better enhanced by colorization and enlargement for wide screen. However, only the gods of technology will ever find a way to fully restore the images distorted by tape damage. I have done what I can to improve its appearance. The sync job turned out excellent, but, like another Pink Floyd performance I did, "Astronomy Domine," it was very hard to figure out ... harder in fact. I hope you enjoy this archive from the past and the quality CD recording ... the original Pink Floyd with Syd Barrett, performing "See Emily Play" from 1967.
