My name is Paul Cheema, and I am running for the position of Director in Region 1 in the RECO Election. I see myself perfectly fitting the role of a director and able to use my best efforts in support of RECO’S mandate to protect the public interest through a fair, safe and informed marketplace that supports a competitive economy.
I am a Master of Science in Forensic science and have worked in a State Forensic Science Lab in a senior position for close to 16 years before immigrating to Canada. In my professional real estate practice of about 12 years, I have been continuously delivering a higher standard of client care before, during, and after a sale. Professionalism is natural to me and I practice it each second of my life. Even in my younger age, I home tutored students, and seeing the value I was delivering, I was happily paid 3-4 times a school teacher would have otherwise received.
I see myself as a responsible, committed, and disciplined professional, a leader, an interrupter, a trend-setter, a highly liked collaborator, an open-minded and unbiased thinker, a contributor of higher values, a relationship builder and nurturer. I am highly skilled in finances, computing, and technology.
I am a strong believer of the highest level of professional conduct that allows a consumer to decide without any pressure. Despite a clearly defined Code of Ethics, unprofessional conduct and misleading advertisements do happen causing confusion, pain to the consumer and striking a blow to our fantastic industry’s reputation. This can be addressed by focusing on two main issues; Education & training and strict enforcement. I will advocate for raising the bar for education and help create dynamic testing methods.
In the end I promise to be highly accessible to you all, listen to your concerns with undivided attention, and have them heard and resolved in a timely fashion.
