A short presentation on the partnership between Book Aid International and Sierra Leone Library Board The branch libraries of the Sierra Leone Library Board have been amongst the few public libraries in Africa to remain open and safely deliver much needed library and public health information services to their local communities during the Covid-19 pandemic. Book Aid International and SLLB have been working in partnership to deliver projects that improve access to books and promote the joy of reading since 2017. The series of projects; "Children's Corners", Inspiring Readers, Explorer School Libraries and a new project "Books to Go", have all shaped the partnership, supported institutional and staff development and above all provided thousands of Sierra Leonean children and their teachers with books and stories to support their reading and learning. Pandemic restrictions required new ways of working together and both organisations rose to the challenges that surfaced. Book Aid International and SLLB look forward to a sustained partnership supporting the vital role libraries play in tackling issues such as climate change, gender equality and quality education for all, and thereby realising the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
