In late Summer 2020, Mr. Giuseppe, a farmer from the South of Italy, grafted an apricot tree’s branch onto an almond tree.
Grafting is a technique that allows for two different plants to be unified, with the aim of obtaining a physical hybrid which shows the qualities of the progenitors. Grafting is used to keep producing precious varieties, to grow a particular species or variety in an inadequate soil, to avoid parasites attacks, to strengthen a branch, restore a plant’s crown and to pollinate a plant.
