Ocular trauma refers to an injury to the eye and is one of the most under-recognized causes of vision loss. Blunt or penetrating ocular trauma can lead to the loss of eyesight. Eye trauma examination involves taking patient history and tracing the source of injury. On the other hand, eye examination includes repair principles. EYE TRAUMA ASSESSMENT
Eye trauma assessment is the assessment of trauma. There can be various types of injuries like peri-ocular, anterior or posterior segment. There is an evidence of 40% monocular blindness being related to trauma. Assessment involves taking patient history followed by examinations. This includes PT review alongside facial and ocular exam.

EYE EXAMINATION
History of the patient is taken as detailed as possible. Time and nature of injury is also noted down. Examination of lids can show tissue loss, canaliculi and lagophthalmos. CT scan can indicate fine cut orbits. Repair general principles are explicated. Simple and lid margin lacerations are brought under consideration.

TRAUMATIC PTOSIS
Traumatic ptosis is trauma to levator aponeurosis and Mullers muscle. Upper and lower canalicular lacerations have been delineated. Later can usually be repaired. Tissue loss can be treated via direct repair, tissue advancement or replacement of layers. General classification divides it into local type alongside associated injuries and different causes of injury.
