"Not every distressed individual is a violent individual," said Education Minister Chan Chun Sing in Parliament on Tuesday (27 July).
Mr Chan added that those who are distressed can express themselves in various forms. He went on to say that it helps if everyone were to spread this message.
The Minister also spoke about how the Ministry of Education (MOE) will continue to provide support to the staff and students of all schools in terms of mental health and well-being.
He was responding to clarifications sought by Member of Parliament (MP) for Sengkang GRC He Ting Ru on the tragic death of a 13-year-old student at River Valley High School.
Ms He had asked about the issue of stigmatisation for those who are seeking help in mental heath concerns. She had also probed on what more can be done to support school teachers.
