The cruelty to the animals and land is getting passed along to the bodies and spirits of our future generation. Ironic that the very place where children are supposed to be cared for and taught to improve the world are being fed and funded by the very people who will benefit off their sickness and diabetes in the next 10 years or less. Corporations have already benefited from the sicknesses and sugar addictions of black and brown children and their communities. This is especially prevalent in socio-econimcally impoverished neighborhoods where vegan, organic and fresh cheap fruits are hard to come by. Children and their families are forced to develop and become addicted to their high sugar, high sodium diets. They end up forming the statistics of the 7 million people in America with diabetes.

The DOE needs to re-think their partnerships with these corporations. The corporations need to understand and accept their responsibility of how their products have contributed to America's sever decline in health and overall fitness.

Children who consume a high sugar high sodium diet are more likely to fall sick and miss class. Consistent absences takes away from the full experience that school is supposed to offer. Their learning becomes fragmented affecting their ability to retain information and knowledge. In the long run, these students become the adults in our society. It is our responsibility as their parents and guides to put an end to this cycle of induced dietary poverty. It starts with the land, it travels into the future and affects home-ownership, access to healthcare, and retirement.

We need to Stap setting up these kids for a life of doctor visits, unnecessary needles, and treatments. This all ties into a much larger system that is our current tunnel--

capitalism.

If the DOE cannot fund better school food we need to look at our priorities as a Nation instead of segmented political bodies pushing ideologies around in a bowl of soup.

what's in the bowl of soup and who gets to eat it?

This of course gets tied into military spending and the amount of discretionary funding is set aside for the US Military.

Troops in Hawaii leave their brand new Nissans on the side of the road because they don't want to pay to get rid of their cars that the military buys them when they get deployed to Oahu.

we start small. and work towards a goal that makes us feel good in our hearts. that we know comes from our hearts.
