Maria Espinoza is a Mexican-American daughter of migrant farm workers in Immokalee, FL. Concerned with the labor conditions in migrant farm worker communities, she has chosen to minor in Agricultural Education and Communication at the University of Florida. However, the only courses available focus on the management of farms and include little to no discussion on migrant farm worker populations. Maria finds herself in class with the children of the farmers her parents worked for and works to challenge the prejudices her parents in encountered in the fields their entire lives.
