I love helping people.

My role isn't only about building the most amazing school facilities for our clients; it's about understanding each school's unique needs and dreams.

By being readily available and communicating effectively, I'm able to help school leaders build trust with students, staff, parents and their community.

EDUCATION IS IN OUR BLOOD

I've always had an affinity for the educational system. My dad was a teacher for thirty-plus years, my siblings teach and I've worked in the educational field since I was fifteen.

I've been in the construction industry for over sixteen years, many of which focus on building schools. 

As Director of Educational Markets, I support school communications through construction projects, whether a public school needing to pass a referendum or a private school needing to raise funds. 

WORKING HAND-IN-HAND

During a campaign process, I work hand in hand with the schools and design teams to build a communication plan that will engage the community and build support. 

EACH PROJECT IS UNIQUE

Each project has different needs, priorities and cultures.

I love understanding people and community, so it's exciting to dive in and develop innovative plans that are unique and provide the best solutions for each school. 

At C.D. Smith Construction, we have a school partnership program that supports engagement and provides opportunities in the construction process.

The program also includes teaching opportunities for our staff.

A perfect day for me is working with a district and design team to develop options that support their short and long-term facility needs.

Seeing a project come to life from the very first planning meeting all the way to the day kids get to see their school is beyond reward. 

MAKING A DIFFERENCE

What I love about education construction is not only the feeling of helping people but knowing that I am truly making a difference in the educational process.
