Toujours dans la tradition des canuts à Lyon, la Manufacture Prelle continue à créer et tisser de nouvelles étoffes chaque année. S'inspirant de son fonds d'archives, les motifs sont revisités, à la fois par leurs couleurs que par leur technique.

Genji illustre notre premier chapitre de création de nouveautés. Le dévidage et l'ourdissage sont des étapes indispensables de chaque fabrication d'étoffe. C'est ici que le fil passe de bobine en chaîne et que les kilomètres de soie s'enroulent autour de l'ourdissoir. Ce sont des gestes précis, qui demandent une attention sans égale de la part de nos tisseurs.⁣

Keeping up with the tradition of the canuts (Lyonnais silk worker), the Prelle Manufacture keeps on creating and weaving new fabrics each year. Getting inspiration from its extensive archival fonds, the designs are revisited, may it be in their colours or techniques.

Genji illustrates the first chapter of our new collection creation process. Here, the making of small bobbins and the making of the warp are necessary steps for each new fabric. At this step, the thread goes from bobbin to a warp and it is miles of silk that go around the warping machine. Each gesture is precise and requires the utmost attention of our weavers. ⁣
