Inside the Heart

This project is an interactive 3D model of an anatomical heart. Interact with the heart by pressing the buttons on the right-hand side of the screen and learn more about the heart by clicking the buttons on the left-hand side of the screen. Use the left mouse button to rotate the model, middle mouse button to zoom, and the right mouse button to pan. This model requires no setup, downloads, or apps, and can run on all major web browsers. The only thing you need is an internet connection.

Biography

Jordan King is a multimedia designer and software developer currently based in central Florida. She will receive her Bachelor of Science in Digital Arts from Stetson University in 2020. During her studies she focused on computer science, biology, and art.

Artist Statement

My practice sits at the intersection of art, science and technology. Through computer programming and contemporary digital media software I'm able to create multimedia pieces that are beautiful, educational, and precise with attention to detail. My desire to understand the inner workings of the human body and computer propels my art practice into problem solving and translating anatomical processes into code. My work primarily focuses on modeling realistic subject matter. I like to think of my work as three dimensional, interactive diagrams and my goal is for the models to mimic a diagram in structure but provide a level of detail and interactivity that traditional methods can’t achieve. The purpose of my practice is to strive to provide any necessary visual communication for industry usage and specialize in visual communication for the natural sciences.
