SAE lives both as an invasive species of Korea and a designed solution from the West. In 2030, the data centers of Gogle, the multinational technology company, contributes to the data-driven disasters in Korea. Afterwards Gogle introduces SAE to Korea as a solution. SAE is a swarm intelligence robot that predicts and mitigates data-driven disasters. It predicts future weather events based on tracking people’s data usage to temporal and spatial locations. SAE flocks and regulates the urban microclimate to negate disaster zones. When disaster becomes inevitable, SAE heats other areas to renavigate dangerous airflow far from disaster-vulnerable areas. Gogle wins the hearts of Seoul citizens by envisaging the Eames House Bird, a Western design icon of a beautiful bird, as a means of deflecting their contributions to data-driven disaster. Such ‘good’ intentions are awarded as people continue to willingly consent to providing Gogle with their data.

SAE는 한국의 외래종이자 서양의 디자인 해결책으로서 일상의 한 부분이 되었다. 2030년, 다국적 테크기업 Gogle의 데이터 센터들로 인해 데이터 기상재해가 심각해지자, Gogle은 SAE를 개발하여 무상으로 배포했다. SAE는 데이터 기상재해를 예측하고 예방하는 떼 지능 로봇이다. 사람들의 시공간적 데이터 이용 행태를 모으고 분석하여 기후 현상을 예측한다. 기상재해가 예측되면, 흩어져있던 SAE들이 모여 떼를 형성하고 도시의 미세기후를 조절한다. 재해 발생이 불가피한 경우, SAE는 다른 지역을 가열하여 공기의 흐름을 바꿈으로써 재해의 경로를 변경한다. 서울 시민들은 아름다운 새의 표상이자 디자인 아이콘인 임스 새를 연상하며 SAE를 찬사한다. Gogle이 데이터 기상재해의 원인이라는 사실은 망각되었다. 시민들은 데이터 기상재해를 예방하는 좋은 뜻에 동참하며, 그들의 데이터를 Gogle에게 기꺼이 내어준다.
