The educational model in China makes the so-called talent education, which the government and society have been advocated for years, a defacto exam-oriented education. Instead of focusing on the learning process, this kind of education measures the students' achievement only by scores.
This video art presents the state of the students in an ordinary class in China. The changes of colours and sounds in the video indicate the tedious, suppressing atmosphere resulted from the emotionless way of instruction. My audience is engaged to the same feelings of the students, from irritability to numbness. This work brings my audience's attention to the negative influence of exam-oriented education on students. Can such a way of education make our students be independent thinkers?
