An icy birding session at the shore of Lake Geneva, late January 2011. Science writer Torgny Nordin and I were in Geneva to interview the head of the Botanical Garden, Adelaide Stork. For context see captainmnemo.se/audiovisual/segelberg.html#Geneva. The icy pavement was difficult to walk on but it was worth while because of all the wintering birds. You here see (in chronological order) an adult Great Crested Grebe (skäggdopping), an Eurasian Coot (sothöna), a young Great Crested Grebe, a female Goosander (storskrake), a bad-tempered Red-crested pochard (rödhuvad dykand), the female Goosander again, a male Goosander, and finally a Grey Wagtail (forsärla). Camera: handheld HV-20, partly with tele converter lens, and with DM-50 microphone. Some image stabilization done as well as some noise filtering (last sequence).
