One of the most pressing ticketing and payments questions that has arisen as a result of the pandemic is how to provide value to passengers who no longer travel five days a week.

We recently spoke to Kanwar Brar, Interim Group IT Director at The Go-Ahead Group, to get his thoughts on how this can be achieved. He said that, following the decline in everyday peak-time travel, there will be a need for flexible ticketing solutions and simple, value-for-money fare structures.

The Go-Ahead Group, he added, has invested in technology partnerships (with Littlepay and Ticketer) that allow tap-on, tap-off payments on vehicles and best-fare guarantees through fare capping. Innovative solutions like this, he says, will provide more relevance to passengers than season tickets.
