Earth deformed substantially as the large ice sheets of the last ice age disappeared. The recovery can be measured to this day and it is an important component in sea level change measurements.
I wrote this asset in Houdini to predict that deformation. At its core, it is custom finite element method that includes visco-elastic material deformation and the buoyancy force of density contrasts in the Earth. Most of this asset is written in the HDK, though the grid setup is done with VEX wrangles to allow for different layers and per-layer subdivisions.
