When a student fails a class, we wrap the community around them; Bringing in counselors, teachers, tutors, and parents to help lift up that child. It is clear the schools here in Ca have failed. I want to see success for every student in the state.

Given the option, many families that want a better education for their kids, would choose a different school. Red tape, bureaucracy and cost, have made this task impossible. I am proposing a plan to give families control over their children's destiny. Let parents choose the best path of success for their kids.

Hewitt's plan:

Foster educational options; bringing true competition to historically archaic schools. I want all families to be able to choose where they send their children. Charter, online, and home schools can bring about better learning environments for our students.

Introduce a student savings account plan. Often, we see inequality between rich and poor schools. By tying the funding to the individual student, families can put their kids in the best schools and not have to worry about crushing educational debt.
