STEMcx is a non-profit program for underrepresented middle school students in Baltimore; it introduces them to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields through exposure, mentoring, and showing them someone that looks like them achieving within STEM fields.
As someone who grew up in an underrepresented neighborhood, with the hopes of one day becoming a physician, I know how important it is to have a mentor's guidance or simply some words of wisdom. I partnered with STEMcx to share some of my personal words of wisdom with students as a part of their "Motivation Monday" series.
