A clip from Fangsong rendered in 3D. I used transfer learning to train a neural network on a series of extant paintings, generating an interpolated sequence of novel painting-like images. For the song, I used Magenta to create a basic melody which I arranged into the composition that accompanies the video.

Bradley Tangonan transformed the animated painting into a three-dimensional digital sculpture that maps the brightness to the height on the base topology of a sphere. The result is a colorful, kinetic scoop of musical ice cream.
