Virtual Ecology 2.0 acts as an archive for the past year. By suspending digitally rendered objects and 3D Scans of his plants in a white void, the work attempts to document the passage of time and acts of care in a year of such stillness.It criticizes our ideas of the binary especially when related to society and computation. The digital vs the real, inside vs outside, nature vs technology.The work is aware of these systems resistance to each other in a time of such climate emergency, therefore it proposes a state of shared duality between these natural and computational structures. In a time of restricted access to green and public spaces, and when digital interfaces have become the primary mode of human connectivity, the video acts as a point of harmonious and meditative reflection in our hyper-mediated culture as well as a proposition to the role we have within our digital and ecological futures.
